As far as we’re concerned, big news this week is that Beyoncé‘s new single “Ego” has debuted @ #77 on the Hot 100. On the R&B 100, the song jumps 13 spots to #16. Meanwhile, “Halo” stays put in the Top 10, falling two spots to #8 but still maintaining it’s bullet. On the Bubbling Under chart, David Guetta & Kelly Rowland debut @ #14 with “When Love Takes Over.” Hopefully next week we will see this summer anthem on the main chart.
As for their peers, P!nk leaps 13 spots as well to #21 with her latest, “Please Don’t Leave Me.” One spot above her is fellow pop star, Kelly Clarkson with her new single, “I Do Not Hook Up” at #20. Enjoying their 10th week their, the Black Eyed Peas sit at #1 with their trite new single, “Boom Boom Pow.” Don’t get me wrong, like them - just not that trash. On the R&B 100, the hottest new song out, Jay-Z’s “D.O.A. (Death of Autotune),” debuts at #66 after only a few days’ airplay. Jordin Sparks‘ epic new ballad, “Battlefield,” moves 78-65, on the Hot 100, showing how very inspired she is by Beyoncé on this track.
But watch out, because the Hot 100 Queen Mariah Carey is coming back next Tuesday with her new single “Obsessed.”
